At the height of the coronavirus pandemic, WBA continued its vital work with vulnerable people.

Working under very difficult conditions and restrictions WBA’s Trustees, Staff and its Volunteers Team provided the following support to our vulnerable users:

  • Telephone Befriending Support.

  • Online & Telephone Contact.

  • Medicine Collections from Pharmacies.

  • Collecting Shopping.

  • Providing free loans of tablets & laptops.

  • Facilitated online zoom educational classes for children when schools were shut down.

Between 2020 and 2022 WBA also delivered the following coronavirus support services to the WBA’s older users:

  • Delivered over 150 Emergency door-step food parcels.

  • Delivered over 1300 freshly cooked hot healthy and nutritious meals.

  • Provided over 100 family size PPE Kits.

  • Facilitated Online Digital ICT Classes to enable our users to keep in touch online.

A big thank you to Tower Hamlets Council, The London Community Response Fund Programme, East End Community Foundation, the National Lottery, BTEG, BBC Children in Need, the City Bridge Trust and the Pears Foundation for their Financial support for our coronavirus community support work.
